The Perfect Montana Fly Fishing Hosts
for your Montana Fly Fishing Vacation
Lennae Klyap grew up in a small rural area where fishing and hunting were and still are considered family traditions. The ladies especially appreciate her ability to teach basic techniques and spend time on the small streams with her. As for the men, they often find themselves humbled by her natural casting abilities. She has fished for 300 pound Tarpon off the Florida Keys, Bonefish in Belize and the Bahamas, but finds herself at home in the local Montana waters for pristine trout. She is often the 'go to' for just about everyone at breakfast in the lodge when it comes time for 'fly selection' for the day, and on the average often makes better choices than some self-acclaimed season guides. Several years fishing the waters of Yellowstone Park and hiking miles of the backcountry serve as a great knowledge base. She has truly preserved her enjoyment of the outdoors and willingly shares it with others.
Montana Outfitter Jim "JB" Klyap grew up fishing and enjoying the outdoor opportunities in Pennsylvania, and brings to the table a hard working and ethical no-nonsense professional approach to his work. He takes each and every day of each clients trip personally and bases his success on his clients own personal enjoyment.
His background in education eventually led him to become a professional outfitter/guide for the past 20 years. His character and skills offer a unique and refreshing approach to sharing the wonders of the Yellowstone area. He'll make sure you never have a bad day of fishing.

The Montana Fly Fishing Guides at
Dome Mountain Ranch on the Yellowstone River
Mike Leach (Preacher Man)
Montana Fly Fishing Guide Mike Leach is no stranger to Montana’s finest waters. Making his home in Gardiner, Montana not only is he on the Yellowstone river nearly every day guiding fly fishers from all walks of life, he’s also a big part of the protection and conservation of this great river. If Mike isn’t guiding fishers, he’s doing his best to be the first “surfer” on the Yellowstone and has been seen riding this unusual craft through some of the upper river’s white water. Mike created Yellowstone Country Guardians, a youth program designed to educate local young minds on the importance of our area. Dome Mountain Ranch is often the epicenter of these programs. Mike’s passion goes well beyond that of most guides. With over 25 years of experience, his reverence of wild places has lead him through many twists and turns as a bear biologist, coach, youth mentor and business leader and father. Mike’s passion for conservation and stewardship is evidenced with each cast. Mike has the ability to take any client, regardless of experience levels and get them up to speed making him one of the most sought after guides on our special permitted stretches of the Yellowstone River.
Mike’s background experiences and proximity to Yellowstone National Park have also made him one of the top choices for a Yellowstone trip. He’s familiar with all the famous waters of Yellowstone Park, such as the Firehole, Madison, Slough, Lamar, and many more “no-tell um” Yellowstone waters. During trips to Yellowstone Park Mike’s clients are not only imbedded with incredible fishing knowledge but get a personalized wildlife tour. So, weather you plan to float the big water, hike into a remote lake or freestone or tweak your skills on a high mountain lake, Mike is the kind of guy who is invaluable to have within casting distance. You’ll also find out why it is we call him “the preacher man”.
Paul Williamson
Paul Williamson is one of those guides who knows about the priorities of fly fishing. Paul purchased his first fly rod with his first ever paycheck at the age of 16 and never looked back and he’s been guiding fly fishers on the Yellowstone for nearly 20 seasons and has been voted “Orvis Guide of the Year” several times. He’s been a commercial fly tier for Orvis, lodge manager and successful small business owner. In his free time he likes to continue down the path of being an aspiring chef. Paul’s streamside lunches always make some of us feel less than adequate. Paul is one of those guys who consistently exhibits customer service as job one. His intimate familiarity with the upper stretches of the Yellowstone river make him one of the most knowledgeable guides in the zip code. Paul has logged thousands of days on our world famous spring creeks and knows every sweet spot of the famed waters of Yellowstone National Park. His in-depth understanding of local hatches and fishing conditions makes Paul one of those guides who already knows which fly you should tie on and exactly where and how to cast it! Paul’s long list of return clients speaks for itself. He’s a soft-spoken gentleman, always exact on the oars and takes great pride in each and every trip!
Kurt Dehmer
Kurt "Durty Kurty" Dehmer is a sixth generation Montana native. He knows that it’s hard to have fun unless you get a little dirty, or when on the water, a little wet! A professional outdoorsman by trade Kurty doesn't believe in an "off-season". Whether stalking trout or wild game Kurty puts a lifetime of experience and an infectious enthusiasm into every outing. It’s rare that you’ll ever find Kurty indoors. If he’s not guiding fishers on the Yellowstone, Madison or some secret freestone, you’ll find him in the saddle leading a group of fishers into Yellowstone’s backcountry. His love of the outdoors, wild things and wild places shows in every one of his trips. Like the rest of the Dome Mountain staff, there’s no such thing as a bad day of fishing. Kurty is one of those rare souls who was born to be a fishing guide. With a strong background in education, Kurty is an ideal choice for even the most inexperienced fly fisher. Kurty is also our Gallatin River specialist and is available for walk and wade trips on this famous river as well as countless others.
James Noisewater
James Noisewater is one of those Montana fishing guides who’s been to both ends of the spectrum, he knows as much about operating a fishing lodge as he does about the rivers he fishes and fields he chases birds in. You could say he’s come full circle and finds he’s most comfortable on the service end between the oars of his drift boat floating down the Yellowstone. Mr. Noisewater still hasn’t lost his southern draw, but sometimes that can be a nice contrast in a world of cookie cutter guides. You won’t find anything the norm with James. He appreciates each day on the water and as a result his clients never complain. With years of experience all over the west and a continued sense of adventure, James is the ideal guide for a full day float or a walk and wade adventure into the high-mountain wild streams of Montana.
Art Lanciak
Art actually cut his teeth between the oars with us at Dome Mountain Ranch for his first summer of guiding. He turned out to be a natural and we enjoy having him around, so do all his clients. Since his first Montana adventure he hasn’t looked back and has waded the wild waters of Alaska guiding for Salmon and Steelhead and still finds time to frequent his local fly shop in Michigan. Art helps plan many of our hosted trips and is a key guide for groups and those seeking a week long adventure or more. A solid drift boat guide, Art has become very familiar with the challenging upper stretches of the Yellowstone River’s special permit areas.
